Whether that is serving our community with Handpicked Boxes or supplying distribution chains with wholesale produce to fulfill regional and statewide needs, we go through rigorous food safety audits and GAP (good agricultural practices) reviews. These certificates provide proof that our top priority is the safety of our food from field to table. HomeGrown Direct LLC is USDA GAP+ certified and 3rd party audited.

Located in the heart of Scott County, Kentucky, HomeGrown Direct specializes in providing fresh, local produce to communities across the commonwealth.

Over the past decade, brothers and ninth-generation farmers, Jacob and Beckham Sharpe have transitioned their family tobacco farm into a diversified 230-acre farming operation. The farm is home to a registered Angus herd, quality hay, a variety of vegetable plots, and the up-and-coming Sharpe legacies Jax, John Parker, and Jane; future Kentucky farmers in the making!  

We at HomeGrown Direct understand that agriculture and community go hand in hand, and we take great pride in our partnerships with other local farmers.

Through these partnerships, we advocate for the stewardship we know is required to plant, grow and harvest fresh, quality produce. We also gain access to a wider variety of local, seasonal goods to share with our customers.

Named 2024 Scott County Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year- HomeGrown Direct LLC knows the importance of neighbors and community. 

Megan currently serves on the executive committee for the Scott County Chamber of Commerce,  chairwomen of the Women in Business chamber committee and Vice President of the Kentucky Vegetable Growers Association.

Beckham serves on the KYFB board.   

Our family is dedicated to ensuring the longevity and continuation of state and federal agricultural programs which are in place to assist farmers and aid in the production and movement of fresh produce nationwide. HomeGrown Direct is a proud partner farm for the Kentucky Department of Agriculture LFPA program.

HomeGrown Direct was built on a core belief in community agriculture-handed down over generations, with a focus on caring for your land through healthy crop rotation, shared utilization of local community resources (such as greenhouses and co-op spaces) and an intimate understanding of the importance of supporting other KY Proud finished goods and growers.

Ultimately, this mindset encourages the production of diverse varieties of produce on farms across Kentucky, that grow phenomenally in the area, are able to be picked at the peak of freshness and most importantly-taste delicious!
